SPIK stands for Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga
Industriyang Kimika, a tagalog for the Chemical Industries Association of the Philippines.
As the name implies, it is an association of chemical industries whose membership now
totals 76 firms.
The association has been
in existence for two decades now. Its role is mainly to address concerns, issues and
interests which affect or involve the chemical industry.
This is explicitly evoked
in its vision statement which states that:
"SPIK should serve as a force within the chemical industry to assist members achieve
competitiveness in the manufacture of quality products, in a way that safeguards the
environment, and pro-actively and effectively addresses government and community as well
as global oppurtunities." |
