| SPIK stands for Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika, a tagalog for the Chemical Industries Association of the Philippines. As the name implies, it is an association of chemical industries whose membership now totals 58 firms. |

| The association has been in existence for two decades now. Its role is mainly to address concerns, issues and interests which affect or involve the chemical industry. |
|
| This is explicitly evoked in its vision statement which states that: |

| "SPIK should serve as a force within the chemical industry to assist members achieve competitiveness in the manufacture of quality products, in a way that safeguards the environment, and pro-actively and effectively addresses government and community as well as global opportunities." |
