SPIK 1st General Membership Meeting was held last March 8,2011 at A. Venue Hotel, Makati Ave. Makati City. It marks the most highly participated General Membership Meeting as it was attended by 65 participants from different member companies.

Mr. Ramon Abadilla, the New President of the Association, presented a brief overview of the  Chemical Industry status and SPIK 2011 Goals. He also welcomes the new SPIK board of directors and committee heads. Joining the event was Atty. Ricardo J. Romulo  ,from Romulo Mabanta Law Office, who talked about the need for constitutional change. Director Melvin Navarro of DPWH was one of the guest speaker to give information of the DPWH Anti Overloading Law.

SPIK Board of Directors induction was one of the highlights also of the said Event. This was done by Hon. Atty Ricardo J. Romulo.

The event was concluded by Dir. Ruben Cueto as he delivers his closing remarks.

GHS Summary training was organized and implemented by the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) in cooperation with SPIK. The training was held last January 27-28,2011 at Tiarra Oriental Hotel.

The Training was participated by 27 SPIK Member Companies and 7 Government Agency. The contents of the training includes the Global trend of chemical substance management and the significance of GHS, latest GHS classification and Japanese countermeasures, current status of GHS dissemination both in government and private sector and the latest classification of mixtures.

SPIK President, Mr. Ramon Abadilla ended the program with his closing remarks and congratulatory speech from Ms. Angelita Arcellana, National GHS Coordinator, Board of Invesment and Mr. Koichi Inoue of METI.
